Liunian Terms of Use

Effective date: September 25, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Liunian's developer ("we", "us"), about your use of Liunian ("the app") and the Liunian service behind its AI features. By using the app, you agree to them. Your license to the app itself is Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/). These terms add to it. Where the two conflict about the app, Apple's agreement governs.

Your content

Your notes, recordings, photos and videos are yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to process what you send through an AI feature, so that we can return a result to you. We do not claim ownership of your content or of the results produced for you. See the Privacy Policy for what is sent and kept.

You are responsible for the content you record. Don't use the app to break the law or to infringe other people's rights.

AI features

Ask, transcription, text extraction and the knowledge base use AI models. Their results can be incomplete or wrong. They may misread a note, mishear a recording or describe a photo incorrectly. Information from web searches comes from third-party websites that we do not control. Don't rely on AI results for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions. Check anything important against your own notes or a reliable source.

Plans and subscriptions

• Free includes a monthly allowance of AI requests. The current allowance is shown in the app and may change.
• Plus is an auto-renewing subscription, sold by Apple and billed to your Apple Account. It is billed monthly, at the price shown in the app before you buy. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings, or from the app. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Plus has no monthly cap, but all plans are subject to fair-use limits that protect the service from abuse, such as a limit on requests per minute.

The Liunian service

We work to keep AI features available, but we do not guarantee that they will always work, work without interruption or remain unchanged. We may change, suspend or discontinue a feature, a model provider or an allowance. If we end a paid feature for good, we will tell you in the app. Notes stored on your device and in iCloud are not affected by changes to the service.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to access the Liunian service other than through the app. Don't reverse engineer, overload or interfere with it, and don't resell access to it. Don't use it to generate content that is illegal or that harms others. We may limit or block access that breaks these rules.

Disclaimers

The app and the Liunian service are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the app or the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us through Apple for Liunian in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; where they don't, they apply only as far as the law allows.

Keep backups of anything important. iCloud sync is not a backup.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. If you continue to use the app after a change, you accept the new terms.
